Batman:The Dark Knight Returns blew me away when I first read it and subsequent readings don't blunt the experience. It's a seminal piece of the comic-book medium and, if you haven't had the chance or opportunity to read it then please do take the time. Don't bother with the sequel, though.

Ah yes, been wondering if this would make the blog. Of your works with which I am familiar, this is one of my all-time favorites. The Dark Knight story was such an amazing piece of story-telling, and you bring it out here. Agree with you on the sequel, which is a bummer considering how amazingly well conceived and told the original was.
