Next up, influence wise – apart from the biotronic man stickers in 2000ad#2 which turned your inner arm into a functioning amalgam of gears and wires – was the Doctor Who weekly. Great artwork by Dave Gibbons. I think that round about now was when I really started to notice the artists and their styles. We’re talking about a time when Gibbons, Bolland, Leach, Kennedy, Bolton and McMahon were strutting their stuff all over 2000ad and Hulk Weekly but it was this initial lead story in Dr, Who weekly which really sparked my interest.
